How To Choose A Pay Per Call Advertising Company

If you are on this page then you probably already know a little bit about pay per call but you may be looking for a little more information on the subject. I have personally owned a Pay Per Call business in the past so I may be the best person to talk to about the subject and how it compares to other methods.

Back to pay per call, as you may already know there are only a handful of companies that offer pay per call advertising. A few of those (& the most important) include Ingenio which has been bought by AT&T, Yodle & RingRevenue (Commission Junction). These are the most important and therefore is what we will be talking about.

Ingenio is the pioneer of pay per call advertising. They were the first and of course because of that they are the largest. In the past Ingenio used their own website containing a business directory to promote your business via sponsored advertisements. This method obviously worked ok and led to their success. After being bought out by AT&T they added several business directories to their inventory such as Yellowpages.com, Local.com and a few others. They offer ads in the sponsored section on these sites and you still only pay per call instead of click. Bottom line, if you signup with them you will be listed in several websites. Not exactly mainstream websites by my personal opinion and therefore will only give you so many calls to your business. One word, Yodle. I know, sounds a little funny but they definetly have brand recognition...

This is my personal favorite and for good reason. I know from experience that you are going to receive the most calls from mainstream websites such as Google Places, Yahoo Locals & Bing Locals. This is the first place people look when searching for a local business, obviously. That is where Yodle comes in, they specialize in putting your business on the front page of these tremendous websites but they don't stop there. They also add your business to all the B sites such as Yellowpages, Local.com and hundreds of others. The mainstream sites like Google, Yahoo & Bing account for more than 85% of all the local searches performed in the world & Google Places alone receives more than 60% of that original 85%.

You may or may not have a website to use which you will definetly need to double your calls to your business and that is also something that Yodle can help you with (for a fee). Technically this pay per call company is Commission Junction & the platform they use is provided by RingRevenue. Don't get confused...

RingRevenue is very different from Ingenio & Yodle. They are targeted more toward nationwide businesses such as cash advances & ecommerce sites. The reason is because they don't actually promote your product/business but just simply allow their "affiliates" to promote the business or product for a kick back.

For example, if you own a cash advance company and signup with RingRevenue they would supply your business' phone number (tracked) to their affiliate network of publishers. The publishers then advertise your business on and off line to try and drive calls. Everytime you get a call for a cash advance that lasts longer than a minute or two then you are charged for that call because it is considered a quality call (due to the length of it).
